Dit schilderij symboliseert de stroom vanuit de diepte naar het wateroppervlak en de lucht. De groene zeenimf ademt onder water, haar ogen gesloten. zij transformeert van zeewezen tot mens, resten haar alleen nog de armen en het puntje van haar hoofd die als wieren zijn. Zij laat zich met de stroom naar boven drijven, Het water omringt en neemt haar mee, het is de onbewuste staat naar het hogere bewustzijn. De zee is het symbool voor het onbewuste, de oerplek waar al het leven uit voort komt.   

Haaien bestaan al 420 miljoen jaar, hun ontwerp is zo goed gebleken dat ze nauwelijks veranderd zijn in de loop der tijd. De hamerhaaien op het schilderij zijn nieuwschierig en zwemmen en groupe naar rechts en maken zo plek voor het zeewezen wat naar links omhoog  stroomt..

Het is de verstilde beweging, het taoistische handelen zonder te handelen..het zijn.

Buffalo

De kleuren van de werken komen overeen met die van het medicijn wiel, rood geel zwart wit, en de kleuren waarin de witte buffalo vrouw verandert voordat zij geheel een witte jonge buffalo is geworden.

Stone thrown in the water

Sculpture for Prodicom 10 years jubliee: Stone and wooden waves

The wood form is made with a ripple like structure which resembles a stone thrown in the water and the ripples it makes.

In the middle of the elm tree, which has been opened up into two parts, is the pure white stone. The outer wood has a lined rippling surface, the sides have been polished so the lines of the wood are visible and the ripples go within. A tree of gold and bronze is formed on both sides.

The main part of the sculpture is made of elm wood which has been standing in Heemskerk, within it is the raw stone: white marble, ‘marmero puro’ from Carrara Italia. 

The wood represents the company, made of one tree. The stone represents the shared knowledge, the stone of wisdom and the initiative of action, the starting point of Prodicom.

The golden lines and copper colour within represent the different people working together in the company, each with their own personality and characteristics. 

It is the ideas which make its reaction and effect for the company and reach further.

The ripples starting point is the marble middle, then it expands outwards in 3 layers, and the side of the elm sculpture, other 3 layers go within.

It forms the balance of expansion and implosion to maintain the set goal which unites the people of the firm.

The elm tree: popular in mythology around the world – symbolizing victory, man’s achievement of goals, and more the elm tree is firmly anchored into the earth, thanks to its strong roots. Because of this, the elm is a symbol for strength and longevity, who’s leaves are made into a bed for children – strengthening their bones and joints. The elm is a magical tree, bringing order to chaos, the courage to the fearful, and solutions to those facing difficulties. The elm is a great protector, exorcising evil, it’s seen planted in front of churches and houses as a good omen. The elm is the tree where people gathered to meditate under.

In French folklore, the elm was considered the “tree of justice”. Underneath its branches, judges reflected and received inspiration for how they would rule.

The elm is a widespread tree in Europe, Asia, and North America. It belongs to the Ulmaceae genus and is popular for wood production.

But in the old days, the elm was considered sacred. For ancient Druid priests, the elm was associated with the Goddess, therefore representing the divine feminine. In Heraldic symbolism, the figure of the elm was used to represent friendship, protection, support, romantic love, and the love among all people. This sacred tree is associated with the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The ancient Greeks believed that the first grove of elms was born around Orpheus. It’s the tree of Hermes, consecrated to Saturn.

Sacreficial bowl of love : elmwood, welded  iron, alabaster 

Elm wood with alabaster tear and heart with horns

Sacrificial bowl of love, on a movable axle of iron, flexible and fragile at the same time. The tear or droplet is made of alabaster, one side raw and pure and on the other side polished, symbol for the pain just as the extasy which everybody experiences in love. The heart is also made of alabaster, with horns where temptation lies around the corner.Together they form the heart which embraces the sacrificial bowl.

Sacrificial bowl of lust, the male and the female united. The phallus form made of alabaster hangs proud and swaying above the female elm wooden bowl which receives. Both are present in us humans, the art of life is achieving the balance between those two energies to become whole and complete. The bowls are made of Elm wood from Heemskerk the Netherlands and give a tangible memory of life’s proces that one undergoes. Which sacrifice to give..

De kudde iepen houten SMILEYS vertellen met z’n 5-en het verhaal van wonden die verworden zijn tot de glimlach tot een openheid die zich ontsluit.

Ieder mens kent wonden die het leven met zich meedraagt.
Door deze te transformeren in de glimlach kan de wond helen en tot een nieuwe vorm komen. Dit is een proces die ik in de 5 verschillende Smileys tot uiting heb willen brengen. De eerste is een inkerving, alsof er een mes in de huid gezet is die het opensplijt, dan een glimlach met een tong eruit, wat een speelse zelfspot toevoegt. Dan vervolgt het in een tweede inkerving erbij, die wijkt uit elkaar, en tot slot opent het zich zodat je erdoor heen bent, of erdoor kunt kijken.
Door op deze manier door de wonden heen te gaan, verandert het in verwondering en geeft het een nieuwe kijk op het leven.

Het iepen hout komt uit Heemskerk en moest omgezaagd worden vanwege de iepenziekte die zich in de bast bevond.
Het hout zelf blijft onaangetast, en kan dus zonder vrees bewerkt en bewaard worden. Het is een hardere noord Europese hout soort met een mooie warme gloed.
De verticale Smileys zijn fijn gepolijst, de horizontale iepen ‘houders’ zijn grover bewerkt.
Zij vormen de basis waaruit de glimlach ontstaat.
Het is een en de zelfde boom.
Zij zijn geplaatst op slanke ijzeren stangen, waardoor zij kunnen mee zwiepen in de wind.
Gelijk het leven waarin je je niet te star vast kunt zetten, zodat je veranderingen kan toelaten en de weerstand loslaat.

Holofernes

‘Holofernes’ iepen houten offerschaal met caramel albast hoofd

Het verhaal over de romeinse leger aanvoerder Holofernes die een heftige ‘verboden’ liefdes relatie had met een joodse rijke weduwe genaamd Judith.. de nacht voordat de Romeinen de joodse stad waar zij woonde wilde aanvallen.. bedreven zij onstuimig de liefde, en bij het rijzen van de zon hakte Judith het hoofd van Holofernes af terwijl hij sliep. Zij spieste zijn hoofd op een staak en hief het boven de stadsmuren uit…Toen de romeinse legers dit zagen bliezen zij de aftocht. De stad was gered en het offer was gepleegd..

Zij is van de voorkant kuis, met de armen gekruist voor zich, haar vogel klauwen steken onder haar habijt uit.. aan de achterkant is zij wulps en wiegt haar billen zijwaarts..

Ohm

De overwinning van de onsterfelijkheid, het proces van  bewustwording. De jonge koning beleeft avonturen en een hechte vriendschap met Enkidu. Als hij hem verliest beseft hij de sterfelijkheid, en laat verdriet toe.

Een traan valt over zijn gelaat en de bevrijding kan beginnen.
